The Ouran drama is over, but that doesn’t mean our live chats have to be! We’ve made a general chatroom that does not require a password. There is also a thread on the Ouran live action forum where you can tell everyone what time you’ll be online.

(The rest of this page talks about the Ouran live chat when the drama was still airing.)
The Ouran Live Chat is an online event where fans from all around the world gather together to chat while watching Ouran episodes live. We’ve had around 100 people participate from America, Portugal, Malaysia, Australia, France, Scotland, and more! The live chat does not require having a Tumblr, Facebook, or Twitter account, so anyone can join the fun.
The informal name for this is also ‘nipple chat’.
Keeping track
Use a time zone converter to see what time Ouran airs in your location. This might get a little tricky, so be careful! Since Ouran episodes air past midnight at 24:20, that means the episode actually airs the NEXT day. Here is an example of what you should put if an episode airs at “July 22 @ 24:20”:

As you can see, the date is actually the 23rd, the next day. The time is also “00/12 am:20” because “24:20” is past midnight.
Check the clock widget on the sidebar of the homepage. Episodes air at 24:20 in Tokyo. The countdown for when Ouran will air can help you schedule accordingly to your time zone and know when you must abandon your real life duties.
Check for posts about upcoming chats. I will make reminder posts a day or few hours prior about the live chat, then when it is an hour ahead there will be a post that the chatroom is open. The post will include a link to the chatroom and password. Note that after episodes finish airing, reminder posts and passwords may be deleted.
Live chats will start one hour early from the episode airtime!
Watching live
To watch episodes live, you must download Keyhole. Keyhole is a safe-to-use program that streams Japanese television programs live. Note that since it is live, the episodes will not be subbed. The quality will also be low and videos tend to lag, but the program still does its job of letting you watch live and is most favorable among watchers.
1. Visit the download page. Click on whichever link applies to what computer you are using (Windows, Mac, etc.) and download the setup. For Windows, the file will be called SetupKHTV3.17.exe.
2. Finish setup and open program. It shouldn’t take too long!
3. Go to the TBS channel by typing TBS in the search box (remember to capitalize TBS). Double click on the second option that says TBS, not the radio station.

4. You are now watching TV! You can double click on the video again so another window will pop up. This window can stay on the screen while you talk with everyone on the live chat.

(The left window is the popup window, which you can drag around and expand. You can minimize the old window at the right.)
If you still have any questions, you can drop by the chatroom and ask the people there for help!
Chatting
Chatting will take place on Tinychat, which requires Adobe Flash Player. The chatroom will not be open until I make the announcement post on Tumblr an hour prior to when the episode airs, and the post will include a password for you to access.
1. Go to the Ouran chatroom. The link is tinychat.com/ouranliveaction.
2. Enter the password that I will include in my announcement post, which will be on the homepage.
3. Sign in via Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, OR as a guest with your own nickname. If you sign in from one of your accounts, the tinychat room will be posted on that website.
4. Now you’re chatting!

For me, I like to put the chat window on one side and the video window on the other side so I can type while watching. Of course, the chatroom may get distracting, so you can watch however you please and join the conversation during commercial breaks. Try to keep your windows still so the video doesn’t get laggy!
